Would any Seattle DUers like to meet up with with us next week?

We're celebrating our 20th anniversary next week in your city and would be delighted to meet any DUers who are around and available for a drink or dinner or whatever.

You can click on my profile of course, but I'll add that I am working on the campaign for the next Attorney General of Texas, and I have a blog. I post actively in the Texas state forum if you want to get a better sense of what we're all about. (I'm relatively transparent online and off. Don't be worried; I don't own any cowboy hats or boots, and we don't live on a farm or drive a pickup or have an oil well in the backyard -- dammit. It seems like NOW would have been a good time to own one, though...)

Mrs. Dittie and I will get to town next Wednesday the 6th with tourist stuff planned all day Thursday and Friday, so we're available for dinner or a cocktail or coffee either Thursday or Friday night. If you'd rather meet during the day on Saturday, then brunch or lunch would work.

Please suggest interesting things for us to do even if you cannot join us -- we've been to Seattle previously and went to the Fish Market and the Needle and the Indian reservation across the Sound and did the underground tour. What else cool can we do? Is there a live music venue downtown that happens to be the shit (FWIW we also despise country music)? How about a freakishly fresh sushi bar that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Now that our stalkers and groupies can find us ... how about you?

I think we're homing in The Pink Door, Fish Club, Collins Pub down by the ballpark, Crocodile Cafe, maybe Tulio or Assagio (which one is best?), the Alibi Room...

...what are we missing?

I don't know if you're limited to downtown or not, but there's a place by University Village that's relatively new called Shun, which is very good. The chef used to be at Nishino, a very pricey place in Madison Park. Also, Kisaku in Wallingford is very good.

In Belltown, a lot of people like Saito's, which is well-priced, and I've been to Ohana and liked it as well (they also serve fun drinks and good Polynesian food).

As far as those restaurants go, I haven't been to Tulio or Assagio in a long time, but they were both good when I ate there, never been to the Collins Pub or the Fish Club (heard good things about the latter), and the Pink Door is a fun place and always an experience. The Alibi Room is cool too.

Fenris is a recent transplant from TX himself. Let us know what your plans are. Any of those places you've listed sound cool. :hi:
