Finley to stay no-show at office

Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas said Thursday that outgoing chief of staff Jenifer Finley likely will not return to the office and will continue her $300-a-day job "off-site" for the remainder of her employment.

Vrakas said he could not explain, however, why payroll records obtained Thursday show that Finley got a full eight hours of pay last week on a day that, according to county officials, she took off to spend with family.

Finley, the wife of former longtime County Executive Dan Finley, submitted her resignation Tuesday after just six weeks on the job, saying she had completed her task of helping Vrakas get settled into his new county post.

At a salary of $79,500 a year, or about $300 a day, Jenifer Finley failed to report to work Thursday at the county executive's office for a fifth straight day.
