"In the past several weeks, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker’s failure in protecting the public has become alarmingly apparent.

Due to staffing issues and poor leadership, a mentally ill woman at the mental health complex was allowed to be repeatedly sexually assaulted. Despite calls for answers from other elected leaders such as State Representative Jon Richards and U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore, Walker has been absolutely mum on the subject.

Also in recent news was that a large chunk of the courthouse’s cornice fell seven stories. Fortunately, it happened at night and no one was hurt or killed by the falling stone. The piece of the cornice broke off due to Walker’s malfeasant neglect regarding having the proper maintenance performed.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is now reporting that Walker was warned by engineers two years ago that this work needed to be done. The engineering report even specified the cornice which had broke off as being one of the targeted repairs!
“These are two of the more severe examples of Walker’s negligence and of his disdain for Milwaukee County’s citizens,” said Chris Liebenthal, Milwaukee County First Chair. “It is just very fortunate that no one was hurt or killed by the falling cornice. It is absolutely shameful that the same could not be said for the poor woman at the mental health complex.”
