Imported Bushies
Just got finished with my canvassing shift. I found out that there were about 20 Bushies, mostly young, high school age kids out doing visibility on the Boulevard this morning. Later discovered that they have been imported from out of state and come from a privately funded "religously based" school.

When I got home, there was a van in my neighbor's driveway and an older man was passing literature and rain coats to three young kids, probably 13 or 14. I waited outside my door and watched them and saw the Bush lit....must be from the same group.

On our side, we've got our dem canvassers, MoveOn and ACT out there. I ran across lit from all three groups while I was out.

I've never seen a battle like this in our little city of <20,000.

1. No kidding?
Out of state?

I've never seen a battle like this either. I didn't know MoveOn and ACT were in the area. Nice to know!

Way to go on the canvassing. It's an odd day weatherwise. I salute you. :toast:

and there were a lot of "Not at Homes", but I'm glad I went out.

No kidding about the imported Bushies.....take a look at the corner of the new Boulevard and Oak Ave tomorrow morning....LOTS of 'em.

on edit: some really good news......

On the way home I stopped off at a fast food place on the south edge of town to get some coffee (thought seriously about pouring it in my shoes) anyway.....the lady who waited on me noticed my K/E button and said "Like Your Button!" I told her I had been out canvassing and she said "God Bless You!" and reached out and shook my hand....

That made me feel pretty good.

4. Tipped the guy really well at Outback last night--
He seemed pretty sincere in his praise for Kerry. Plus he had a "Rock the Vote" pin on--and Rock the Vote told Cheney to go Cheney himself--so that was a point too!

Seriously, when I wear my Kerry gear, people seem to love it. All over, waitstaff, clerks, cashiers, support it.

Plus, out doing visibility on Sunday on Fond du Lac and Capitol, people were flat FIRED UP to vote for Kerry.

This year people ain't listening to the GOP "If you vote and you have parking tickets you'll be arrested" tripe. People are going to get out and vote.
