WPR reporting high turnouts in northern counties
Mentioned near 90% turnout in some areas. If that's true, it's pretty amazing.

1. Having been to Wisconsin
only once, aren't the northern counties the rural area of the state? If they are typically rural areas, wouldn't they typically vote *?

Alot of these folks are upset about the economy as well as the environmnet - especially, the mercury/fishing issues. It's anecdotal, but most of the folks I know up there are Kerry/Edwards supporters.

Turnout in Dane Country is so high, they've had to go print extra ballots! Showing lines at one polling place with LONG lines right now. Also said there was record turnout on the North side of Milwaukee this morning.

Lots of union dockworkers and the Univeristy there, I guess. (even though UW Superior is Der Gropenfuhrer's Alma Mater.)
