Any thoughts on those running for county executive seat?
Chris Abele is running... he says he won't be as extreme as walker.... Ieshuh Griffin who ran for state assembly and lost, will now run for county executive...She ran as the women who was not going to be the white man's B**ch. Jim Sullivan who just lost the state senate seat will run for country executive... Don't know what his stance on this position will be.... I believe Jeff Stone is the only Republican....

1. You must be talking Milwaukee County?
We've got an open seat here in Dane County also, as Kathleen Falk is stepping down.

My Assemblyman Joe Parisi is running, and he will get my vote. Joe Wineke just decided to run a few days ago. Doyle endorsed Zach Brandon. Jonathan Barry- former Dane County exec- got out after Wineke got in. Dane County Board Chairman Scott McDonell is also in.

Time for Madison to vote for a mayor again... occasional Mayor Paul Soglin (socialist) is running against Mayor Dave. I love spring elections.

12. defined--another guy from Madison
there has traditionally been a not so hidden undercurrent with in the state party that its leadership traditionally and virtaully completely comes out of the madison area. An occasional bone to milwaukeee. but generally the power has resided in dane co.
now this is justifiable and understandable if you live in dane co. but if you live elsewhere--especially up north somewhere, there has been a lot of feeling that every year the party will ask you for the dues and then say shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh when it comes to anything else.
So weineke defined as Just another guy from madison expressed that feeling and frustration.
Many folks north of say hwy 10 feel left out

6. Wineke
I'm supporting Joe Parisi, too.

Wineke would get huffy for saying he's from Madison, because he's from Verona. Both in Dane County, big difference.

8. Wineke must think its ok to use the Democratic party list
as his Christmas card and campaign mailing list since he's been the party chair and all. That's how I heard he was running.

Joe Parisi on the other hand...

The Capital Times had this to say about Joe’s tenure as Dane County Clerk:

“Parisi…has earned a justified reputation as a crusader for open government and greater citizen involvement in the political process…”

“In an era when elected officials often get a bad rap, Joe Parisi is doing a great deal to remind…residents that positions of public trust really can be vehicles for doing good – particularly if they are occupied by creative and energetic people.”

Joe was endorsed by both The Capital Times and the Wisconsin State Journal in his first assembly election, and in every subsequent re-election since 2004.

“Joe Parisi led the successful push to protect whistleblowers who expose waste and fraud in government and the private sector.”
-Wisconsin State Journal, 10/29/2010

“…we enthusiastically endorse Democrat Joe Parisi, who has been a terrific representative for Monona, Madison’s east side, the village of McFarland, and the towns of Dunn and Blooming Grove….The former Dane County clerk has been a legislative workhorse…who has been in the forefront of fights to renew the state’s economy…”
-The Capital Times, 10/19/2010

He's also the kind of person who gets deeply involved in world issues like freeing Tibet.

10. Stone's a regressive of the lowest order
Sadly, I live in his district, and get his mailings. He'd make Walker look like Hugo Chavez. When you think of stereotypical Teabaggers, he's the guy that comes to mind. He's the angry-old-white-guy's angry-old-white-guy.
