bye-bye BadgerCare Plus?
It sort of looks like it:

http://host.madison.com/ct/news/local/health_med_fit/vital_signs/article_bbc93402-19b7-11e0-98fe-001cc4c002e0.html

a snippet or two:

"...clues to his views and agenda can be mined from a string of commentaries he wrote for the conservative Washington, D.C., think tank The Heritage Foundation, which Smith joined as a senior fellow in May 2008. You can also get a sense of his views from his television appearances on "Fox Business" and other TV programs.

snip:

"Participating in Medicaid, the authors claim, is entirely voluntary, which means states can spurn the programs if they wish, which Smith encourages them to do, while continuing long-term care spending with state-only dollars. "Congress is about to set off a chain reaction that it has not planned for and will not be able to contain," the authors warn in their essay. "Now that the federal government has committed itself to a massive new entitlement, states could solve their budget problems by simply getting out of Medicaid."

Heritage Foundation and Fox News....great combination...

full disclosure...I have an interest in this program....and I also know that approximately 1/4 of the State population is involved in BadgerCare Plus.

2. Questions of the decade....
Is this newly-elected Republican Governor and Legislature REALLY CRAZY ENOUGH TO DO THIS?

The next question is "can we stop them"?

They must be stopped. This is the best program in the Country...it is the MOST PROGRESSIVE PROGRAM in the country. I'm willing to man the barricades on this one...

4. Yes. But there's another way
The Assembly could impeach him sooner than that, and the Senate could convict him. Chances of that happening: zero. And if it did, Kleefisch would take over as governor. So it looks like we're stuck with them for a while.

and am worried also..I've only 3 more years to Medicare, so I'm hoping they will run into problems.

On Edit: I did think about the fact that most wal-mart employees (and other low wage workers, since you have to be employed for the program) and even most of Ron Johnson's employees are on this program for their health insurance...so maybe they are just blowing smoke?
