MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - Wisconsin senators went back into session late Friday morning to take up the budget repair bill and its public union bargaining limits which the Assembly passed overnight.

GOP Senate leader Scott Fitzgerald said he would have let Democrats debate the package and bring up amendments had they showed up Friday. But they didn’t, so Fitzgerald was planning to have his GOP senators prepare the bill for a final up or down vote when the Democrats return.

No debate and no amendments will be allowed. At least one Democrat needed to be there to hold a final vote Friday – but all 14 Senate Democrats have stayed away from the Capitol for the last 8 days to block such a vote.

Republican Governor Scott Walker held a news conference in Kenosha to tell the senator for that community – Democrat Bob Wirch – to come back and do his job.

Seems like a poor choice for Walker's press conference since Kenosha was one of the first (the first?) city to pass a bill denouncing Walker's union busting bill:

2. Ha! Thanks, I didn't realize that. It's looking more and more like he's following some
play book, part of which he shared with us and "Not David Koch" and will not waiver. Just going down the check list.
The guy is starting to creep me out a bit. Something's not quite right in the noggin?
