My anger got loose.........

Just before I had to leave for my meeting this morning, there was a knock at the front door.....I was in a bigggggggg hurry and wasn;t in any mood to talk to anybody but upon opening the door I noticed that there were three men there, one older gentleman and two 20-ish men...in suits with briefcases....they were either mormon or Jehova Witness.....

I flew off the handle and said something to the effect that I didn't have time to listen to the American Taliban and to get off my porch. One of the younger guys started to SMIRK (guess what that reminded me of...) and say something so I took a step toward him and pointed to the street without saying a word. They left quietly but stood on the sidewalk talking for a few minutes.

I'm usually very tolerant. But not after Tuesday.

They always do that to me too. I always tell them I am satisfied with my own religion and smile mysteriously.

Tolerance does NOT mean putting up with bullshit. Jehovah's or Joe Smith's or Karl Rove's.

There comes a time when you finally realize that not everyone has a right to be heard, that there is no such thing as being "fair and balanced," and that deeply-felt loyalty and mad, but well-aimed passion are the only things that really matter.

I'm Italian-American. I learned long ago to make sure I left no bodies when I was finished, so to speak. Taking prisoners just means you have to feed them.

Democrats, and all lefties, would do well to sit down with the first two "Godfather" movies, and take some hints.

That's how it works.

I think you showed remarkable restraint this morning, and I regret you let them live to preach another day. Maybe next time you'll have a nice big shovel close by the front door.

of telling a Mormon I'd read the Book of Mormon (since I believe it is important to read all religious texts). They wouldn't leave me alone until I got rude.

The JW's come by once in a while where I live now, but not too much. My husband can fix their cars at their homes, and doesn't charge them an arm or a leg. Sometimes I wonder what they make of the Islamic stickers on our door and our "Free Tibet" sticker.

Next time they come to my door, I'll tell them I don't want Canadian taliban literature.

My husband works with a guy who is JW and he doesn't vote...Is that typical?

I was stuck in traffic today directly behind a huge SUV with those fish shaped jesus things and a bunch of stickers promoting some christian radio station. It was soooooooooooooooooo tough not to lay on my horn and/or get out and bang on his windows and break off his wipers and and and

...I took the opportunity to attempt to convert them to Wicca.

when I found out they do not vote and that is part of their religion.


They enjoy and take advantage of the freedom to come and knock on doors that people who do cherish the right to vote have died for, but shove it in our face that not voting is a mandate from some god.

I asked them nicely not to return ever. They showed up again a few months later. They were different people who knocked at the door, except when I went outside I saw the same ones I asked to not return in the car parked in the driveway.

I acted like a crazy lady, pointing at them and demanding to know why they would not honor my request to stay off my property.

There is an ordinance against harrassment on one's own property.

I have not seen them since and that was nearly a year ago.

I have several very large dogs - absolute sweethearts, but they put on a really good 'vicious' show. So, you tell these religious terrorists you aren't interested, and they have 30 seconds to get to the car and you're letting the dogs out. Did that one time several years ago - haven't seen another Jehovah Cult Recruiter since.

Just the other day two young women showed up for Jehovah's Witnesses and when I said "No, thank you" they said okay and left. The whole thing took less than 30 seconds. The last time the Mormons came I said the same thing and took a moment to say I appreciated being able to use their Family History facilities for genealogy research (they have truly awesome records and make them available to anyone). One of the young men said that was cool, and they left. I've never had a problem with either of these groups.

You open the door a crack, smile and say - 'I'm not interested, thank you' - close the door and walk away. Works everytime.

the JW's came to our door. Mom answered it and was too polite to close the door while they were yapping. My brother and I put an LP album on our record player, and played it backwards with the volume cranked enough to drown out the conversation at the door. (Chances are good it was a Beatles album too!)

Mom said she had to go, closed the door, and proceeded to laugh her way through a reprimand. Priceless kid moment.

i usually play along with them and parry with them for awhile but they came to my door the day after the election,bad day to show up.I told them to take their intolerant cult asses out of my yard.they hurried away.These are the people who scare me more then any terrorists.they are limiting my choices more everyday.I don't understand,they say the exit polls were way off,but they use the exit polls to justify this so called moral majority.Bullshit

... with any of them, and a couple of missionaries from the LDS were at my door the other day. I just say that I'm not interested and wish them well in their work. They say "thank you" and off they go.
