Poll: Ryan 3rd-most-disliked GOPer
By REID J. EPSTEIN | 6/23/11 7:29 AM EDT Updated: 6/23/11 2:35 PM EDT

Democrats are winning the messaging war on Rep. Paul Ryan’s bid to overhaul Medicare, with a new Bloomberg poll finding 57 percent of Americans believe they would be worse off under his plan.

Only 34 percent said they would be better off if Congress replaced “traditional Medicare” with a program to purchase private insurance with government subsidies, as Ryan has proposed.

The poll also found Ryan is now the nation’s third most disliked Republican, with net unfavorable ratings that trail only former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. But more than half surveyed said they have no opinion of the Wisconsin Republican.

Bloomberg did not publicly release crosstabs of their survey, so the partisan breakdown of its poll results is not known. The poll found that 40 percent of Americans believe President Barack Obama has a better vision for the nation’s economic future, while 37 percent said Republicans do. More than half — 51 percent — said “we should see” how the national health care law works, while 35 percent want it repealed.

Here's hoping we can dump him in 2012.

1. I thought it was very good news.
It was nice to see this story all over MSNBC yesterday.

2. Considering he was hailed as a "rising star" for the GOP
not too long ago its very good news. I was also glad to hear he's not going for Kohl's seat, because I thought for sure that he would be. He could easily raise the money.

His "roadmap" to hell has been around for a long time, but it seems like a lot of people just woke up to it this year. I hope this translates into good statewide and national fundraising for Rob Zerban.
