Next Time
Next time: It will be a state-wide race

Next time: We will not be fighting on rigged Republican Turf

Next time: There will be public resentment of the MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF CORPORATE MONEY POURED INTO THE STATE!

Next time: There will be a choice between a political midget and a political giant.

Next time: There will be an EVEN MORE HISTORIC Change.

We came close this time

But the big prize is next time.

1. I don't believe that losing in 4 races against GOP incumbents implies anything was rigged.
Winning 2 of the 6 seats against Republican incumbents were great victories, ones which we can build upon.

6. No, it's highly Republican. Accusations are simple without proof.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1707525

If you deduct ALL the votes from Waukesha County Darling would still be ahead.

Here's why...

Total of Wisconsin precincts reporting:
81 of 82 Precincts Reporting - 99%
Darling , Alberta (i) 39,471 (54%)
Pasch , Sandra 34,096 (46%)
--------

Waukesha County
Darling: 9,449
Pasch: 4,767

Totals with Waukesha County deducted
Darling: 39,471 - 9,449 = 30,922
Pasch: 34,096 - 4,767 = 29,329

Since there are more republicans in Waukesha County than democrats - there is no way Pasch could have gotten more votes than Darling in Waukesha County (that would have been the only way Pasch could have won), and as we can see with all the votes from Waukesha County deducted Darling would still have been ahead of Pasch.

8. voter intimidation tactics so rampant,
turnout in milwaukee was 50% of 2008, and only 88% of 2010 gov. race.

4. I'd like to see some analysis of the races.
Edited on Wed Aug-10-11 09:36 AM by mojowork_n
What really happened in each district?

In Milwaukee, it didn't help at all that for the average 'low-information' voter,
the need for the recalls and the vast amounts of money spent were seriously
put to question by our state's biggest daily paper.

"What are all those Democratic unions upset about?"

I thought the basic message got lost, and even all the money spent on TV ads
didn't help. (I mean, for people I work with, people who don't pay so much
attention.)

And it's just going to get worse in the next election cycle:

With the redistricting, a vote cast in a Democratic Bantustan -- a voting district
somewhere in Milwaukee or Racine or Madison -- where 80% of the votes cast will go
to the Democrat -- won't count as much as a vote cast in a place like
Brookfield, or Mequon, where the Republicans will keep a stranglehold on slight
majorities.

7. Again, you have no proof. If you do, provide it. Otherwise accusations are easy. n/t

9. its still early, but heres a glance of what happened just a few months ago
An observer for Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg objected Thursday morning to the security of bags holding Supreme Court ballots from the City of Brookfield because of a gap opening on the ballot bags.

They’ve raised similar objections four or five times in Waukesha County since the start of the recount, said retired Circuit Court Judge Robert Mawdsley, who’s overseeing the county recount. In an interview, he agreed with objector Bill Hotz’s observation that the bag opening from Brookfield was the largest seen so far.

Hotz said poorly sealed bags or torn bags appear to be a common problem, but they were evident on five of six Brookfield bags that were counted first thing Thursday. He objected to the counting of those ballots where bags appeared to be open.

“There are several bags that appear to be improperly sealed,” Mawdsley said for the record. Kloppenburg’s campaign representatives took pictures of the bags in question. The Board of Canvassers agreed to count the votes, which can be identified separately if necessary.

17. What happened last night was we watched. Every move. In real time.
We watched the counts and reported to boiler room in real time. We matched the seals on the ballot bags. We watched them properly secure the ballots... all before they went to the county.

Nothing happened last night.

10. Your absolute right we don’t have any proof
Because the devil is in the detail and we have yet to have a Federal investigation into the going ons by the GAB and NEOCON clerk Kathy. We could have had proof if the police had not shut down the exit poll yesterday.

18. In Butler?
Weird place to exit poll anyway.

I will keep my comments about the exit pollers out of this because I don't know all of the details, but I suspect that they would not have been shut down if they'd have followed all proper procedures. I can tell you for a fact that they did not in the primaries.

12. That's total batshit right there.

There isn't one Dem in this state who doesn't want Nicholaus out. That includes Tate, who, besides the aforementioned desire to see her gone, would understand the largess in Dem goodwill and pounds sterling that would come his way if he were to manage to accomplish her removal.

It's why there were observers and lawyers all over the place in Waukesha and the rest of Darling's district.

Anyone who thinks Tate and the DPW wouldn't be going after Nickolaus if they had the slightest scrap of evidence isn't thinking clearly.
