1. you mean milwaukee alderman mcgee?
it's a long story...

basically, last fall, 4 white cops beat the shit out of a black man and they still haven't received any real punishment for it, and no other cops are talking. apparently during the beating they pulled his pants down.

so a week or two ago at a rally, alderman mcgee made a comment along the lines of "anyone who would pull another man's pants down is a sick ass faggot"

a few groups have called on him to apologize, and openly gay state senator tim carpenter (who ran for congress this past fall here in milwaukee) tried to meet with him, with little success. he confronted mcgee as he was leaving a press conference to try to get him to apologize but mcgee ignored him and just walked away...

i used to like mcgee, but this is just some dumb shit.

2. Been following it also.
I was hoping McGee wouldn't follow in his Dad's footsteps, guess I was wrong.

3. ehh i still like him
he's completely unafraid to say what's on his mind...though this recent incident shows that he needs to do a little more thinking sometimes.

i think more politicians should be like him; loud and controversial

i said in my original post that i used to like him...i didn't really mean that

he's inexperienced and will learn in time; i've been lucky enough to have a couple conversations with him and he's actually a really passionate, insightful guy

4. Calling someone a "faggot," and then running away?
That's bullshit.
