I just received this e-mai from ACT. Thought some of you in the southwestern part of the state might be interested.
Dear Friends,
Thousands of Wisconsin Activists have spoken out to oppose the Voter ID Bill that is being pushed by Republicans. The bill threatens to disenfranchise an estimated 123,000 voters in Wisconsin.
You’ve signed the petition, told your friends, and many of you came to ACT’s Town Hall Meeting last week in Milwaukee. The fight has begun.
Next week, the WI State Senate will hold two public hearings on the Voter ID legislation. We need you there.
Racine, March 21st, 5:30-9pm
Racine Case High School, 7345 Washington Ave
Milwaukee/West Allis, March 22nd, 12:00 – 6:00pm
Tommy G Thompson Youth Center,
Ballroom 2 at State Fair Park
Madison, April 5th, 9:30am
State Capitol
Sign up to attend any of these hearings now.
It’s critical that we have good attendance at these hearings. All you have to do is show up and register (simply sign a piece of paper) in opposition to the bill. These totals will be reported widely and can serve as a wake-up call to proponents of this undemocratic legislation.
Again, thanks for all you do. We hope to see you at the voter-ID hearings next week!
Sincerely,
Tamara Pogue
State Director
