Schultz fined for election payout
By PHIL BRINKMAN / Lee Newspapers
.
The Federal Election Commission has fined state Senate Majority Leader Dale Schultz $1,200 for illegally subsidizing his congressional campaign with state Senate campaign funds.

The fine relates to work done by campaign worker Ben Lewis for both Schultz's state and federal campaigns, said Joseph Hasler, treasurer for the Richland Center Republican's federal campaign. Schultz challenged U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-La Crosse, in the 2004 election.

.......

"We admitted we'd made a mistake, but we also pointed out that we had corrected the mistake before anybody else had even caught the mistake," Hasler said.

La Crosse County Demo-cratic Chairman Bob Johnson said Democrats pointed out the problem before the Schultz campaign did. "Dale Schultz cannot continue to misrepresent the facts. He by no means pointed out the mistake before anyone else, but in fact, actively denied the (state Democratic party's) claims last February and only admitted the mistake after being fined by the FEC."

First page of the puke playbook, deny until you can't, then lie.

If I hadn't heard the protests of Schultz's misuse of funds and saw the press releases myself, I might just believe the cack-faced scumbag.

Apparently the LaCrosse Tribune didn't believe him either because they weren't bashful at all about printing the Dem's claims.
