Emerson's words do not match his (in)actions.
Liberal-turned Conservative cabinet minister David Emerson has issued a written apology to his Vancouver constituents who are upset that he switched parties.

However, in the letter to voters in his riding on Wednesday, the international trade minister also said he stands behind his decision to join the Conservative government.

1. His apology was quite weak, and actually insulting...
...this is what he said:

"To those of you who are upset with my decision - I apologize. However, I did not come by this decision lightly and I stand firm behind the decision to become a part of this new government"

Okay, translation time:

To those of you who still can't get over, I apologize. But I know best and I'm going to do what I want, regardless of whether or not you people like it.
