Harper doesn't seem interested in racial harmony.
Here in Saskatoon, the tension between natives and the police is high.I live in Saskatoon and Maurice Vellacott isn't very well like by the First Nations. Here's an editorial in the local paper.

His will be an auspicious debut, given that Vellacott's latest contribution to racial harmony is to suggest that the reason two Native men were found frozen to death outside of Saskatoon is because they were in the habit of going to a shack on the outskirts of town to drink.

This is no doubt going to come as news to the police, to Darrell Night and to anyone else in the city with an interest in this topic.

What shack? Where is it? Can Vellacott provide a tour? Or is this merely another figment of the man's crowded imagination?

1. No surprise there, the supporters of Harper have been and will
always be inherently racist, imo. They are the original 'reformers' whose racism was very public. Changing the name of a party does not change it's inherent beliefs.

2. The only bright spot I can see here is that at least it's not Jim Pankiw.
Now THERE's a racist of the first order. Remember him? Remember his comment about being scalped? To the great discredit of the province of my birth, it didn't stop him from getting re-elected that time. If Harper had nominated him, you could even say the PM is actively hostile to racial harmony.

3. Nothing personal,
and I lived in Saskabush for 7 years, but Saskatchewan repeatedly elected Grant Devine. The world is full of political oddities.
