Anyone else get the Harper postcard in the mail this week?
Entitled "Protecting Canadian Families".

Just a couple of pictures, one of a happy young family, the other of Harper himself, and a few nebulous bullet points describing how he's making Canadian families safer. Precious little else on the card.

What is the bloody point, unless he's prepping for an election sooner rather than later?

1. Not Yet...
I am probably in a 'bad' postal code for the Tories...

But they have been running lots of ads/bribing the media and touting the child-care allowance, which I thought was interesting because they have a 'campaign' feel about them.

Maybe an election, sooner than later...?

2. And Layton's demanding we get out of Afghanistan...
I guess we can presume the softwood deal's a bust.

3. I just heard that...
on the World at Six...good start and the CBC gave him a long sound bite...zilch coverage to the government reaction which was 'stay the course'.

But it is a good start...

4. Seems most of the bigger organizations have made note, too.

5. I'm in the Okanagan Valley...
A 'blue bastion' of retirees if you will and i did not receive anything, possibly i was blacklisted for sending Kenny Dryden 50 bucks. If it was a general mailing then i should have gotten something, we're so blue that Stocky chose to run in Peachland/Summerland (population 11000), he even rode around on a sea-doo in a wetsuit to a campaign appearance, it was totally hip and shit...

6. It was a general mailout, not addressed.

The very definition of "junk mail".

(Hang on, I'm not positive that it was actually mailed. May have been hand-delivered by one of his fans.)

8. Was just referring to Mr Prax' post
although snark, was just putting to bed the notion that it might have been targetted to conservative areas to drum up support.
