Hill Times letter: Can't imagine Zytaruk doctored Cadman tape: Marlatt
As a then-Progressive Conservative, I was frequently interviewed by journalist Tom Zytaruk of The Now in Surrey, and found him, if anything, a little too sympathetic to Stephen Harper and James Moore's old party, the Canadian Alliance.

As a Progressive Canadian candidate in the last election, I was interviewed by Mr. Zytaruk and found him just a little dismissive of me until he discovered that I had more substance than the Conservative candidate.

Today, the suggestion that Mr. Zytaruk may have doctored the Cadman tape is, at best, a little amusing.

Accusations of dirty tricks by Mr. Moore are hardly credible. This is the same Mr. Moore who wandered the Liberal leadership convention hall with fistfuls of buttons ridiculing Liberal leadership candidate Bob Rae. And after Mr. Rae was knocked out, Mr. Moore reportedly pulled a handful of buttons from his pocket and said: "There's a reason we handed out so many of these." Are Mr. Moore's present accusations or his party's "expert" witnesses playing politics? Is Mr. Moore the designated heavy-hitter assigned to distract Canadians from Mr. Harper's refusal to testify in the Bernier affair?

Brian Marlatt

White Rock, B.C.

(The letter-writer is the Progressive Canadian candidate in South Surrey-White Rock-Cloverdale, B.C.)
