And apparently nobody is complaining. Where are the federal Liberals and NDP on this?
Ottawa signs off on Nortel-Ericsson deal
The Canadian government has signed off on the sale of key wireless Nortel Networks Corp. assets to Telefon AB LM Ericsson (ERIC-Q10.660.111.04%) , ruling the Swedish company's $1.13-billion (U.S.) bid poses no national security concerns and does not qualify for an Investment Canada review.

Air Canada, U.S. reach deal on sports charters
Air Canada says it has reached a deal with the U.S. Department of Transportation that will allow the resumption of NHL sports charter flights for the 2009-10 season.
Air Canada was told last month by the department that it must cancel all of its season-long sports charters regardless of the point of origin.
Air Canada chief operating officer Duncan Dee said the issue had threatened to disrupt the travel schedules of NHL teams for the upcoming hockey season which begins Oct. 1.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Transport Minister John Baird and Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon for their critical interventions, which allowed this matter to be resolved in time for the start of the upcoming NHL season," Dee said in a statement.
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/story/2009/09/18/sp-charter-travel-dispute.htmlSo our PM was standing up to the US for AC. Great.
Maybe, just maybe we could have some politicians standing up for Canadians, for employees in leading technologies. There is no government funding here as in the AVRO. We are not talking about obligations in nuclear defense. Where in the hell is our future economy going to be.
It seems that dumming down is the solution for big business and for Conservatives.
Perhaps there is a chance. One small chance that some federal party might make an issue about this. Maybe it would coalesce something in the federal scene?
