October 2007 (after the Liberals abstain from voting on the throne speech): http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/story.html?id=1188ba21-bcbf-4d3a-b230-cdba58302ced

NDP Leader Jack Layton accused the Liberals of being an “absent Opposition” and handing the Tories the gift of being able to operate as if they had a majority government.

“Nothing makes people more cynical about politics than when parties don’t do what they say, don’t stand up for what they believe,” Mr. Layton told reporters just hours before the vote.

1. Yup. The NDP really, really need to think of getting a new leader.
Actually I think the Grits and the Cons could also benefit from new leaders. I'm really sick of all of them - this is why I follow US politics more closely than Canadian.
