CFRA.com: NDP Won't Join Liberals in Protest
The NDP won’t be returning to Parliament Hill with the Liberals on January 25th.

An NDP source says the NDP has no plans to join the Opposition Liberals in holding hearings and discussions starting January 25th, the day Parliament was scheduled to resume after the Christmas break.

The Opposition parties accuse the Conservatives of shutting down Parliament in order to avoid questions about allegations prisoners transferred to Afghan authorities were tortured.

NDP Leader Jack Layton says he would seriously consider any ideas from other parties for collaborating against the Tories.

2. Perhaps a bad strategy for the NDP
It looks like they are tacitly supporting prorogation this way.

6. Yet another not so smart move by Layton...
It is simply a symbolic protest but it does make a point if the Opposition shows up while the government is away playing but Jack doesn't get it.

"Layton says he would seriously consider any ideas from other parties for collaborating against the Tories." Uh-huh, sure Jack, you have already shown how interested you REALLY are.

He is not doing his party any favors by his actions over the year, imo.
