CN safety systems OK at fatal crossing
CN says the safety systems at the Edmonton railway crossing where a man and his two daughters were killed Tuesday appear to have been working properly.

John Baxter was driving his daughters, Julianne Rose, 9, and Coral Sky, 7, to Winterburn School when his pickup truck was hit by a Via Rail passenger train.

CN spokesman Jim Feeny said Wednesday that bells and the train crossing arm have all been tested and were functioning properly.

He said there were also other indications that the safety equipment was working.

Father and two children died.

Locals are saying that the railway arms are like a probability. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.
The snow storm had covered the flashing lights.

CNR stands on it's reputation, or perhaps its quality control?
