Yup, it's coming to town, and my boss hooked me up with a viewing in private with some of the officials.

So, I don't just get to tap it and run, I can actually study it...I cant' wait.

It's even kinda cooler because this is the year it won't be awarded.

1. Just don't touch it, cause
you'll never win it if you do.

3. I got to touch Stanley...
... in 1988 during the final series between Boston and Edmonton (I lived in Boston). It was on display at the Ritz Carlton and one day after work I went over to look at it and the other trophies. There was a kid there with his dad and they were touching all the trophies, and the security guard wasn't doing anything about it, so I thought 'screw it I'm touching Stanley' and I did, put both of my hands right on it and left them there for a good long time. :-)

Interesting thing about the Cup are the scratches and markings on it, and the fact that a lot of the lettering of the names is somewhat irregular.

Have fun!

4. I once had a private audience with the Maharishi ...
... Mahesh Yogi.

I'll bet meeting the Stanley Cup will be just about as exciting.

:P
