Question from a US citizen regarding
disabilities and Canadian law. Are people with all sorts of disabilities protected from discrimination? If so, can these laws effectively be overturned? Thanks in advance for your replies.

1. Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/charter/

Section 15 of the Charter reads:

15. (1) Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.

These charter rights would be exceedingly hard to overturn.
