Our best music?
Listening to Jimmy Rankin's Morning Bound Train. It really is a great song.

Also a huge fan of bands like Tricky Woo and the Smugglers.

Of course I'm a HUGE Lightfoot fan.

What do you think is our best.

1. Nunber 1. Stan Rogers
Stan also comes in at 2 thru 5. What a tragic loss to the music world.

3. Canadians Rock!
The Band (Only Levon Helm was an American), Neil Young , Jeff Healy and The Tragically Hip all do it for me.

My kids rock to Simple Plan, Avril Lavigne and The Bare Naked Ladies

My wife goes for Sarah McLachlan, Nelly Furtado and Alanis Morissette.

And my Mom loves Ann Murray, Celine Dion & Shania Twain.

Pretty much covers the musical spectrum.

I've been living in the States (Indy Area) for 4 years and we don't get much of anything that hasn't 'broken' in the States. Do we still have Canadian Content Rules?

4. Well it certainly is not what is at the top of any charts
Not that any of our *music* has been latley. It's usually bands that a) have never been heard outside of thier local fanbase or b)they have long since disbanded.
Anyhoo, one of the bigger acts that I love is Big Sugar. I can't stand the fact that some of our biggest exports are so terrible like Celine Dion and Shania Twain, because they are not representitive of Canadian music.

Comin' down the plains
Stealin' wheat and barley and all the other grains
It's a Ho! Hay! Hi! Hay! Farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores
