Harper takes aim at Ont. premier
VANCOUVER -- Conservative Leader Stephen Harper doesn't have very much nice to say about Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.

In what was supposed to be an off-the-record chat with reporters on his campaign plane Tuesday night, Harper said he was surprised to see McGuinty campaigning with Prime Minister Paul Martin. As he finished the conversation, which was reported by some media on Thursday, Harper said he wouldn't want the Ontario premier backing him up.

As well, Harper noted that two Atlantic premiers, New Brunswick's Bernard Lord and P.E.I.'s Pat Binns, don't like the Liberals in Ottawa.

He says he was even surprised at how strong Binns came out in attacking the federal government recently over equalization.

Well like who, besides Mulroney, would he like behind his back?

To coin a phrase "You dance with them that brung you".

1. Gotta love those 'off the record' conversations
I bet Harper forgot to tell the media they were 'off the record' until after the conversation was made public and he looks like an ass yet again.

2. nothing is 'off the record'
this was calculated, everything with these guys is calculated. The 'beer and popcorn' "gaff" wasn't an off the top of his head remark, it was a speaking note, but miscalculated.
