Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, has made a secret donation to a charity which helps victims who harm themselves.

Fiona Gale, a 29-year-old groom, threw herself under a train only hours after being discharged from hospital

She was moved by the death of a former groom who killed herself while suffering from the psychological affliction.

The duchess was inspired to make the gesture after being told of Fiona Gale's death in a letter from the woman's mother. She asked that the details be kept private, although the donation was clearly made in memory of Miss Gale.
