Link needed re: UK retirement system
I've searched, but I can't find a link to the UK's retirement system problems. I'm trying to convince someone that the UK is looking at the US's social security system to solve problems with the UK system.

1. NPR had a story on it last week
on "morning edition" I think.

One stat that stuck with me: In the early 80's they indexed the payments to prices, instead of wages (like Bush wants to do here). At the time, payments were about 30% of the median wage. Now they are less than 10% and over half of retirees need additional welfare assistance from the state.

6. Try reading Norma Cohens 'A Bloody Mess'
It is probably gives one of the best analysis of what has gone wrong with the British pension system
