Iraq envoy Clwyd to join privy council

The prime minister's special representative on human rights in Iraq, Ann Clwyd, is to become a privy counsellor, Downing Street announced today.

She's the one who came up with the idea of "Saddam's People Shredder" as an excuse to invade Iraq...

Whatever happened to that?

1. Back in February...

.... the shredder story was the subject of a very interesting exchange in the columns of The Guardian between Brendan O’Neill of the Spectator and The Angel of Iraq.

You pays your money and you takes your choice but, in this case, my money would be on the Spectator…

The fact that he wasn't allowed to ask any questions about her information & the fact that no-one, not even the human rights groups have evidence it exists, shows she can't prove it exists
