Conservative minister Crispin Blunt reveals he is gay
Conservative minister Crispin Blunt has disclosed that he is gay and has separated from his wife.

Mr Blunt, who is prisons minister in the coalition government, said he had "decided to come to terms with his homosexuality".

In a statement, he said the move was "difficult" for his family and hoped for their "understanding and support".

He has been MP for Reigate since 1997, before which he served in the Armed Forces for many years.

1. Well, good luck to him...
As you all know, I am no fan of ANY Tory MP; but someone who has already attracted as much abuse from the RW tabloids as Mr. Blunt already has (mostly for being Too Soft on Crime) can't be ALL bad. At least, as Tories go. And I wish they all would go!

has gone after him for homophobic hypocrisy.

I'm more interested in whether the other Minister rumours are circulating about will come out. Again lots of hypocrisy there.

5. Apparently not (at least not a close relative)
Crispin Blunt's father was a Major-General Peter Blunt; there is no reference to any relationship to Anthony Blunt that I can find, and I suspect that any close connection between a spy and a General would have been noted in the media.
