More on Paddy Ashdown MI6 claim

Ashdown was MI6 agent - claim

Lord Paddy Ashdown, currently the top international administrator in Bosnia, was an agent for the British MI6 secret service in the 1970s, Sarajevo daily newspapers have reported.

According to the Oslobodjenje and Dnevni Avaz newspapers, Lord Ashdown's name was published on the internet as part of a list of 311 MI6 agents - stating the British diplomat was based in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1974.

Lord Ashdown was made a peer in 2001. The former soldier had led the Liberal Democrats for more than 10 years.

He left the Royal Marines in 1972 and joined the Foreign Office.

1. He was certainly very pally with Louise Aimery's IRA pals:

Aimery, daughter of Julian and great niece of Harold MacMillan, managed to engineer a summer intern job working at Ashdown's office in Whitehall in 1996 for a convicted Irish fraudster linked to the Provos.

As I recall, the woman eventually became a barrister after much wrangling to expunge fraud and theft background records in the UK.
