Jazeera say they have Qaeda tape claiming London bombs
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 03:01 PM by Anarcho-Socialist
DUBAI (Reuters) - Al Jazeera television said on Thursday it had received a videotape in which Al Qaeda claims responsibility for the July bombings in London.

Al Jazeera said the tape contained the will of one of the July 7 London suicide bombers, Mohammad Sidique Khan, 30, in which he blamed the attacks on Britain's support for the war on Iraq and Western "tyrants". It said it planned to air the videotape at 2000 GMT (9:00 p.m. British time).

At least two groups linked to al Qaeda have already claimed responsibility for the July 7 suicide bombings on London's transport system which killed 52 people.

The Arabic television channel aired small segments of the tape, which showed Khan -- who London police believe was the leader of the July 7 suicide bombers -- wearing a turban, talking directly to the camera while sitting in a room.

5. So you're saying he's foolish for giving credence to the BBC report?
I expect you have nothing credible to explain why he shouldn't, otherwise you would have used it to back up your derision.

So, what does that make you, besides rude?

7. The tape may well be genuine but it looks as if Al Qaeda is using it ....
... to make it look as if they masterminded it, whereas I suspect that it was their crap that inspired it.

A moot point, maybe, but I think it's important to clarify whether we're dealing with a powerful international IslamoSmersh (as Bin Laden, Bush and Blair would like us to believe)or cells of politically-motivated youths in diverse countries.

8. Depends on what al Qa'eda actually is
Such is the problem with organisations which are networks rather than bodies. It becomes pretty impossible to say where the organisation ends, and the camp-followers begin.

I'm happy to go along with the claim that al Qa'eda planted the bombs, but I'm not happy to go along with the misleading implication (from the P.M. et al.) that al Qa'eda is a single organisation - if it were the U.S. would have crushed it by now.

6. Makes you go "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm",
doesn't it?

And here I thought you were going to have to wait for the rumour factory to come up with an alternative truth before you were ridiculed.

Damn, that Elmo is getting good at faking those video tapes!
He even fooled the BBC this time.

Or, (cue suspenseful music) are they in on it too?

9. Pert UK reported it in LBN and it sank
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 05:41 AM by Anarcho-Socialist
It isn't such a good story now that Al-Qaedia have claimed some sort of responsibility. Until now the resident CTs' take on the London bombings was that it was a "MIHOP by Blair/Bush to divert attention from Karl Rove." Although there are still those CTs who go so far to suggest that * and OBL are all in on it together.

12. Yeah -- from what I read
the four were either:

a) told they were on a mock-terrorism exercise (of course citing the Peter Power (sp?) thag)

b) thought they were carrying drugs

**

I'll bet you anything that the CT's will latch onto this:

It is not clear when or where the tape was filmed. But friends of Khan told BBC News it showed him looking significantly different than he did immediately before 7 July.

They believed the message had been recorded some weeks or months before the bombings.

& claim that it wasn't Mohammed Khan but a Mi6/CIA/Mossad double.

13. Full text of video:
I'm going to keep this short and to the point because it's all been said before by far more eloquent people than me.

And our words have no impact upon you, therefore I'm going to talk to you in a language that you understand.

Our words are dead until we give them life with our blood.

I'm sure by now the media's painted a suitable picture of me, this predictable propaganda machine will naturally try to put a spin on things to suit the government and to scare the masses into conforming to their power and wealth-obsessed agendas.

17. Yes!
And the pictures of the bombers in the tube station.
I saw them over and over and over again.

And I agree with your prediction.

I thought of the exact same thing when I heard that bit of information.

No one wants to believe their son is capable of doing something like this, I can't blame the family.

Can't the sound techs prove it was indeed his voice by comparing it with another recording?

15. That was actually considered by the police
at one time. Around when they were saying the bombs were detonated by mobile phone alarms.

16. Yes, I do remember that.
There were so many conflicting reports at first, it seemed like the police didn't want to rule anything out.

11. Perhaps
it sank because many people in LBN mostly have their minds on other things at the moment?

14. Perhaps
Though I think that had the main news story had still been Cindy Sheehan, the thread would have sank anyway, but with a couple of more posts.
