London to host Aids conference

More than 30 countries will meet in London to discuss the international fight against Aids.

The conference, organised by the Global Fund to fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria, will be chaired by UN Secretary Kofi Annan.

It aims to encourage countries to pledge funds over the next two years, a spokesman for the Department for International Development (DfID) said.

The UK has already pledged to double its contribution to the Global Fund to £200 million over the next two years.
