An Australian Political Leanings Test
I just took a nice little online Australian political test. I know it's just an online test, but it's intriguing. It can be taken here:

http://www.ozpolitics.info/blog/?page_id=206

I am not suprised at all with my results - except how high ONP came on my graph (sure it's less than 50% but it's still too much.)

Interestingly enough, it predicted correctly the exact order I am voting for the 5 candidates on my ballot next week (1. Greens, 2. Democrats, 3. Labor, 4. Liberal, 5. Fascism First)

my results are here: http://www.ozpolitics.info/blog/index.php?page_id=206&id=c84fb51c7395efd3a456e9dec9486d50

1. Mine came out...
1. Greens
2. Australian Democrats
3. ALP
4. Fascism First
5. Liberal

Why Fascism First is above Liberal I have no idea, because I do NOT agree with a thing they say. LOL

Thanks, that was fun!

10. Interesting
Mine was Greens, Labor, Dems, One Nation (?), Family First, Libs, Nats.

No need for me to panic though, just needs a grain of salt.

2. ??????
For me it came out as:

1. Greens (95%)
2. Democrats (75.2%)
3. ALP (61.8%)
4. One Nation (40%) WTF??
5. FF (36%)
6. Nats (14.9%)
7. Libs (13.3%)

I'm probably going to lie awake tonight worrying about how One Nation scored so high.

3. Yikes!!!
I think I need to be sent to a re-education camp. I too scored high on ONP/Fascism First.

Green = 95.7
Dem = 75
ALP = 67.4
ONP = 32.6
Fascism First = 31.9
Nats = 16
Libs/HPA = 14.3

Well, one good thing is that the Howard Party of Australia (HPA) came out on the bottom. Wonder what it was about the way the questions were set that made us lefties score high on the right-wing parties?

But it was a fun little exercise. Thanks for posting that GL.

4. I think the reason we got the likes of ONP so high
is because while we may disagree with them completely on social issues and what not, we agree with them on grounds of economic welfare etc. While ONP and FF are both socially conservative, they aren't that conservative economically. I mean I'd never vote for them, but that's probably why there was some higher matches.

Also, as the disclaimer said, it is non-scientific, so it could just be an error on the test...

5. Isn't it interesting
that we all scored lower for ALP - is that an indication of how far away from their roots the
party has gone?

6. That's what I was thinking
I mean, I am not that far to the left actually. I see myself as a moderate leftist, yet I see the ALP as presently a bit too far to the right...

11. I tend to green (or red), but I'd vote Liberal before ONP
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 09:47 PM by Generarth
Apparently that test disagrees though.

Greens 92.1% Australian Democrats 79.1% Labor Party 63.1% One Nation 32.5% Family First 31.1% Liberal Party 17.5% National Party 14.5%

Questions which I thought Family First orientated - abortion, gay couples and children, euthanasia I answered from a pro angle and the buggers still get 31.1%.

Same sort of thing with One Nation.

I think they need to fix their test a little.

(edit for sp.)

14. I'm about as left as they come
Edited on Tue Jun-27-06 07:13 AM by Djinn
but I'd never vote for the Coalition above ONP. Thankfully it's not something I'll ever have to do as I live in a chardonnay socialist inner Melbourne electorate but while their social policies are repugnant I agree far more with their economic and foreign policy views, they tend towards the simplistic but it's a far better starting point than the coalition's (and frankly also the ALP's) starting point of neo-conservative economic rationalism.

Anyway my score was:

Greens 92.9
Democrats 84.5
ALP 75.9
FF 42 (a tad scary but again it's only their social policies that are hideous)
Libs 24.7 (surprised it was this high, presumably this is based on traditional Lib values not the social interventionist Howard Liberal Party)
ONP 25.7
Nats 22.3
