Ads using 'sexy' children rapped

CHILDREN as young as three are being targeted by advertising for products such as strapless bras, "wet shine" lipstick and skimpy clothing.

A report released yesterday by think tank the Australia Institute, Corporate Pedophilia, found tweens — pre-teens — were increasingly being sexualised in sophisticated ad campaigns as retailers, cosmetic and clothing companies tried to reach younger markets.

Advertising for tween products often positioned children to draw attention to gender differences such as broad shoulders for males, and defined hips, waist and breasts of females, the report found.

"Children do not yet possess these physical attributes, yet they are dressed and posed as if they do," co-author Emma Rush said.

I often see girls who I'm sure are no more than 9 or 10 dressed in little heels and lip gloss -
I just think it's terribly sad that they're being robbed of their childhood and forced into
competing with other girls to be up to the mark. There are a lot of influences at play, although
television and advertising I'm sure are the main culprits, but parents just go along without
thinking things through.

As for the culture of child beauty queens - child abuse, nothing less, IMO.

Its shocking isnt it.
We are sexing up childeren in the name of profits.
These man have no integrity.

The world is now prepared to sell there soul for a few extra dollars.

Its like mobile phones..
Telstra design a phone for childeren, and market it.

Why do childeren need a mobile phone?
childeren shouldnt be outside of there parents care when they are that young, let alone in need of a mobile to be incontact..
