Australia to take Japanese whalers to court
"The Federal Government has announced it will launch legal action against Japan over whaling in the Southern Ocean.

Formal proceedings will be lodged in the International Court of Justice in The Hague early next week ahead of an International Whaling Commission (IWC) meeting in Morocco in June.

Foreign Affairs Minister Stephen Smith says he is confident the legal action will not affect Australia's bilateral relationship with Japan."

Rudd had to do something to get a kick in the polls before he announces the election, and this should help a bit.
About time - it's embarrassing that Sea Shepherd has had to do all the running on this issue after all the rhetoric
from Labor.

We jut watched Whale Wars the other night, and the kids were asking me all sorts of questions, so I explained the situation to them. They will be happy to hear about this.
