Oklahoma an ENTIRE state of dixiecrats???
I compiled numbers from these 2 documents:

http://www.elections.state.ok.us/reg_0104.pdf
Oklahoma State Election Board
REGISTRATION BY PARTY AS OF JANUARY 15, 2004

http://www.elections.state.ok.us/04gen_co.pdf
Election night results by county

Does anyone else want to take a look at these numbers? (please, my eyes are tired and I keep thinking I’m missing something here)
Am I seeing things or is Oklahoma an entire state of dixiecrats?

for instance,
Adair County 7,412 registered democrats
2,562 Kerry votes
34.57% Democrat turnout

3,601 registered repugs
4,971 repug votes
138.04% repug turnout

2. Dixiecrats in Oklahoma?
I thought that was a Southern thing? I mean DIXIE.. the south... civil war..

I honestly think they all drank the Kool Aide..
I think thats the explanation for alot of it.. they drank the crap that was force fed to them and lapped it up like dogs.

3. Don't forget - Oklahoma is home to several crack pot religions.
Oral Roberts for one.

I am actually surprised to see that many repugs in Adair County - when I lived in Oklahoma the repugs never ran candidates in the local or state elections because they only had like 2 or 3 in the county.

5. Just wait until you look at Texas
Your head might explode.

I don't know what the numbers are, but I wouldn't be surprised if Dem registrations out-numbered Repubs 60-40 there. Of course, they all vote like Repubs.

People really need to stop thinking that Party registration actually means something in any significant way in 2004.
