My perspective on this race...
It's kind of long, but I've posted it on my blog here:

http://mumonno.blogspot.com/2004/11/well-whats-next.html

Look folks, things will ultimately be OK- we as Americans have to go through a lot of pain.

We should neither be overly hopeful or hopeless.

We should concentrate on actually building not only building organizations like Media Matters and Moveon, but we need a tangible outreach to the red-states that parallels what fundamentalist churches are doing- either in the realm of liberal churches, or as separate organizations.

Look folks, the people who voted for Bush were voting against an anonymous "goverment" bogeyman. What we need to do is to help them where they are, and in that process help them understand what they can do to make things better for themselves.

But please read and comment on my blog entry. I'd greatly appreciate it.

1. We will probably be ok as a country, but there will be MUCH
suffering at the individual level that otherwise would not have to go on, and that has me outraged to the point that I can barely draw breath!

Would Jesus love a liberal? You bet!

2. There will indeed be, and please feel free to be angry...
but please remember that it is our lot as human beings to experience a great deal of needless suffering- our mission is to transform that into something that is healing.

I want to see Bush out as much as anyone on these boards- maybe more so, but we have to make it happen.

Maybe we weren't successful yesterday (maybe we were?).

But we will be.

It's natural to learn from defeat.

We can at least be comforted that the Repubs won't learn anything from their "victory."
