4. I don't know...I'm in a state of shock. They told us they would fight,
all of them. They said they had lawyers in every state...They left us hanging... I don't understand.

16. That's what I don't get
Why all of the bluster about lawyers in every state and "I've got your back?"

It's bewildering. Someone suggested it may be because of Skull & Bones loyalty.

Kerry had so little to lose compared to the average American.

But, I don't blame him. The GOP waged an effective campaign built on distortion, fear and lies. They had a large number of people respond to their bigotry and hate. That's what I'm sad about. Darkness overwhelmed the light.

5. Come On
Can you imagine how hard this must be after two longs years of him and his family going through this. I can't believe he is trying to demoralize anyone. It's hard on us, but think how hard it has been on them. I appreciate what he has done for us thus far.

6. That was my conclusion.
What could President Kerry accomplish with a fundie house, a fundie senate, a majority of fundie judges, and a fundie media?

I'm pissed as hell that the dems have rolled over again, but I see the logic. I don't agree with it, but I see it.

9. Stop it with the Hillary nonsense already.
Stop repeating bullshit right-wing propaganda. Hillary is not running in 2008; she's a great senator, who cares more about the fate of the country than herself; Obama has said many times that she's his role model.

rolling your eyes at Hillary.

There have been lots of negative Hillary posts today, and I thought yours was one of them.

12. Oh, please!
Boy y'all have been great for the past few years, but DU is really melting down. You think Kerry didn't want to win?? He worked a lot harder than you no matter what you did.

The country elected Bush damnit! There's nothing to freaking fight for! It just didn't turn out like 2000!!! Get it through your damn heads! Thye got the lawyers together in case it was close. It wasn't, apparently. Fighting valid election results wouldn't make me feel any better. I'm much more concerned with why we can't win by getting people to VOTE for us. Because apparently, we can't.

It sucks royally, but we live in a country that would re-elect this tyrannical idiot maniac. That's our current reality.

21. fighting "valiid election results"?
no way-
Deibold co is run by republican supporters and contributors.
Regardless if it may be proven or not that underhanded programming occured(the code remains secret and unchallenged),
there STILL remains a CONFLICT of INTEREST sufficient enough to question whether or not the results were fair.
Bottom line:
A partisan company cannot be in charge of counting electronic votes.
(at least not in a fair democracy)

question: what can we do about it now?
A: nothing at all
These voting machines are in place now PERMANENTLY.
There MAY never again be a DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS, SENATE, OR EXECUTIVE.
There WILL never be a way to challenge the validity of the results of an election.

ALL right wing proposed laws will pass like greased lightning.

Laws to inhibit opposition groups may be implemented whether they are "fair" or not.
Challengers may be easily put down--patriot act 2 will pass and any groups files will be accessed by those in power and information will be used to ensure that they remain in power.

Bush plans on staying in for life. He will never relinquish power.
He doesn't have to.
One more terra attack and military law may go into effect and any "suspects" as identified by those in power may be imprisoned without access to attorneys.
Sectors, Curfews, Draft, and World Domination is just a congress session away.

Hey, if Gore and Kerry couldn't beat Shrub then maybe we need a candidate who can spark tremendous emotions.

have him, UNLEASHED. I just wish the rest of us didn't have to suffer.
Really, read Alterman today he just nails it. He is right. The voters do not care that the war in Iraq is a quagmire, they do not care if he is gutting Social Security they just don't care. I don't blame Kerry for conceding and I worked 14 hours straight to complete exhaustion. We turned out 80 percent of the vote in my precincts and I know because I asked people what their ballot number was when they left the building and I know how many are registered in each precinct. That was as good as it gets and all I could do.

digesting this whole thing. I am so tired (lack of sleep) I keep imagining I am going to wake up and this is all a bad dream.

I don't think this nausea will go away anytime soon.

20. But as of the moment he conceded the vote was 254 - 252.
With Ohio in the balance. Why not count the votes? Because he couldn't take the heat of the popular vote?

It was 254 to 252, for christ sakes.
