11. Absolutely. The whole world will pay in blood for this.
And it's not just more attacks and wars. It's climate change. It's our fucked-up Earth. We can't spare another four fucking years of moving - hell, racing - backwards.

12/12/00 (Bush v. Gore)
9/11/01
11/2/04

Bad things happen in threes, right? I think we're looking at multiples of threes over the next four years.

Me, too. Why? I'm more afraid of what the Bush regime has in store for this country than anything bin Laden could do.

14. Yes, it's wrong.
You are grieving for yourself, when you should be angry, fighting, beginning the Reconquista. 9-11 left our nation powerless and exposed, and aside from enlisting, there was nothing we could do. Now we can fight. We have a criminal in office, we should waste no opportunity to raise awareness of that fact, and do what we can. It may not be clear what we can do, but we can at least be preparing.

Dorothy Haddock, Granny D, likes to say that when things are darkest you prepare yourself for victory, so that when the world turns, you are ready. Now is the time to prepare for victory, whether that be exposing Bush's lies, impeaching him, imprisoning him, or simply setting up for the election in two years. We should be ready.

On 9-11 all we could do was grieve. Now we can fight.

Maybe I just get pissed off more easily than others.

24. I was feeling guilty that I'm crying harder about this than
when my dad died.

But I made a promise to myself. I'm not going to curl up in a fetal position like I did after 2000 and check out till the next election. Maybe not today, but soon, very soon, I'm going to put my nose to it just like I did with this election, and I'm not going to look the other way. I'm gonna get active and make change all on my own. I WANT THE POWER PLANTS AND PORTS PROTECTED, I DON'T WANT MY KIDS AND FUTURE GRANDKIDS TO DIE OF CANCER BECAUSE THE ENVIRONMENT ISN'T PROTECTED!

This is about my kids future AND I'M NOT GIVING UP

19. On 9/11, I saw this day coming
I was sad for the folks in the WTC. But I was immediately sadder for our country and what was in store.

We bombed Afghanistan, which had nothing to bomb.

We bombed Iraq.

51% of our country is so arrogant, they believe it's possible to get some consolation out of this new rambo Jesus foreign policy.

I was sad because I knew how stupid our country is and how easily it is to fool them.

This is the real day of blackness.

The blood of Lady Liberty flows unabated. Will we save her? Time will tell, but it is going to be ugly.

It was what we did to ourselves.

That is how tragedies always go, isn't it?

25. Are you kidding
On September 11th, we were attacked from the outside. Last night, we suffered an attack from within. From within our OWN party. We can't blame * for our loss. Take a look around this board. This country is polarized between red states/blue states and it's not the Rebugs that have done it.

Our OWN party has divided this nation. I live in a red state. I am NOT ashamed of it. The Repugs won because they opened up their ranks to different ideologies. We LOST because we narrowed our focus to the far left reaches of our party.

We're driving people away. The votes prove it. Now, what are we going to do to fix it. Are we going to sit around and whine about the evil Repugs or are we going to get off our asses and regroup?

26. Yes-9-11 was the most horrific thing I've ever seen on live tv.
Losing an election, as much as I am worried about the future of my country, is not quite the same as witnessing people choose to jump to their deaths rather than die in a fire or a building collapse. The only live news even that even came close in my mind to the terror attacks on 9-11 is the Chinese army firing on it's own youth in Tiannaman Square.

Bush voters are our neighbors, our relatives, and our coworkers and friends. I don't know about you, but I have friends who are evangelical christians, too. I like to talk religion with them, it's a good intellectual exercise for both sides. Sitting around hating them and stewing over an election that is now over resolves nothing, brings no new people to our side and makes us look like bitter losers.

I loathe Bush, but we're stuck with him. We survived Reagan, we'll survive this. Maybe even we'll be better off in the long run, because we will look long and hard at what caused us to lose this election and come up with a better strategy in 2008.

27. I've been saying the exact same thing to my friends today.
I've felt sadder, and sicker, and shakier, and more sick to my stomach today than I felt on 9/11 ... and on that day, I was so bad that I almost called in sick from work.

I'm glad that I took today off in advance.

28. I know I am.
We know what this means to our democracy and ways of life.
9/11 was an attack against America, we knew the country had seen that before and knew we could survive it.
This is different, this is a complete failure of Democaracy and the system that was setup by our founding fathers.
I will no longer say God Bless America but Rather God Help America.
