Still more shenanigans in Ohio!!!
Edited on Thu Dec-09-04 11:46 PM by pointsoflight
"One polling place in Howard County, Ohio, that was under court order to permit everyone in line to cast their vote sent them all home at midnight because the order applied only to Election Day itself."

Don't you love how these people look for every possible technicality as way to throw out votes rather than try to protect the vote?

1. It's touching...
How much they treasure a citizen's voice.

BTW, I think by now we've all moved to the plural: "shenanigaii" :)Because at this point, there are way too many to keep track of.

3. We need more info on Howard County than he gives
Is Howard County Democratic? What was their final tally? Have complaints been filed?

Exit polls nationwide showed more voters casting ballots for Sen. John Kerry than for Mr. Bush. But instead of explaining the accuracy of exit polling and the dubious trustworthiness of the voting machinery, the news media have refused to investigate.

(snip)

David Lytel, founder of ReDefeatBush.com, served in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy during the first Clinton administration.

At least it's getting printed somewhere *sigh*

5. Great story.. love this part..
To those of us who doubt President Bush won the election in the United States, the key differences between here and Ukraine are the methods of fraud and the passivity of the news media.

Here the party in power used unverifiable computerized voting to boost its totals and intimidation and misinformation to suppress the vote totals of its opponents, but the news media haven't investigated it.

...sweet huh.. it basically says, bush stole the election too, but he did it better!!

7. Too many mistakes.
"The recounts by the Libertarian and Green parties in Ohio and by the Ralph Nader campaign in New Hampshire are not being covered by the commercial news media, despite being under way for more than two weeks."
"In New Hampshire, we'll learn if voting equipment manufactured by corporations openly in Mr. Bush's camp gave him a bonus."
Over.

"In Franklin County, Ohio, Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, a Bush campaign official, distributed voting machines so that Republicans could vote efficiently while ensuring that Democrats had to give up hours of their time waiting in line because of a shortage of voting machines in their districts, thus reintroducing a poll tax that the Constitution forbids. "
He has no control over voting machine distribution.
And a poll tax is not a tax at the polls; it's a head-tax, a fixed amount per person.

"All of these "glitches" and "irregularities" nationwide and not one improperly credited vote to Mr. Kerry?"
You find what you look for.

"According to a post-election Harris Poll, 38 percent of Democrats and 37 percent of people who are not enrolled in either of the two major parties believe there were either "some" or "many" attempts at unlawful vote suppression."
That's not really what the wording said, was it?

When you make claims like that, you have to be like Caesar's wife, above suspicion. Poll tax, indeed.

8. One more evil act by the Republicans in Ohio

I hope you are passing this onto the correct people, one more nail in the the coffin of that party or democracy, I prefer the first over the second.

10. You should repost this article under a positive media heading
This is one of the first articles I have read that I would consider at least somewhat mainstream that is actually seriously addressing the issue of election fraud.
