It's time to ask WHY
I realize that I'm greener than grass around here, but I'd like to suggest we put the Grand Ol' Fraud Party on the defensive with a series of WHYs, starting with some hard data--and sourced. To begin:

WHY were there 485,000 more votes (approx) for * in 04 than 00 in Florida counties currently using touch-screen voting machines?
(touch screen machines in FLA at http://www.verifiedvoting.org/verifier/map.php?&topic_string=5std&state=Florida
and election results from State of Florida's site)

WHY were there 210,000 more votes (approx) for * in 04 than 00 in Florida counties using Diebolds, including 65,000 (approx) more * votes in Broward County?
(Diebold list at http://www.why-war.com/features/diebold-campaign.pdf
and election results from the State of Florida's site)

WHY in FLA were there 62 of 67 counties with vote margins better for * in 04 than 00, N0 counties with fewer * supporters in 04 than 00, 5 more counties with a pro-* majority in 04 than in 00, and N0 more counties with a pro-* minority in 04 than 00?
(Source: State of Florida's site, comparison vs. archived 2000 results)

WHY did Berkeley statisticians find an unexplained overvote of 130,000-260,000 in favor of * in FLA?

WHY were 3800 extra votes added for * in Franklin County, Ohio, the only county using Diebold machines?
(Source for 3800 magic votes: AP. Diebolds by County at http://www.why-war.com/features/diebold-campaign.pdf)

WHY according to this past election's own exit pollers, were there from 1967 to 1988 in the US only 5 mistakes in 1500 exit polls, and from 1990 to 1999 in the US only ONE erroneous call in 700 exit polls?
(Journal of Official Statistics, Volume 18, No. 2, 2002 pp 165 - 179. "Election Night Estimation" by Warren Mitofsky and Murray Edelman; http://www.jos.nu/Articles/article.asp)

WHY did a University of Pennsylvania's analysis show that there was ONE chance in 250 MILLION that the exit polls in Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania were wrong by as much as they reportedly were?
(University of Pennsylvania; text at http://www.buzzflash.com/alerts/04/11/Expldiscrpv00oPt1.pdf)

1. We've been asking
they've not been aswering. And the media that should be all over this isn't because it isn't profitable to their corporate owners.

Welcome to DU, BTW. :)

4. thanks for the welcome,
tavalon. I know DU's been asking, and asking, and asking. I was wondering, actually, if framing the problem this way might attract attention, especially if we start with hard data. Nothing conspiratorial about plain numbers. Corporate alliances aside, I still think once MSM is finally on the story, they'll have trouble getting off. After all, they don't exactly paint a rosy picture of Iraq anymore (even though it took them long enough to figure it out).

8. Really, they don't?
I know that sounds adversarial but actually, I don't watch or read MSM anymore and I'm realizing how out of touch I am with what they report.

So, they are finally getting onto the Iraq as quagmire story?

2. Has anyone compared the number of newly registered voters
including 2002 and 2004 in relation to the increased number of voters? I can not recall seeing that info; and in Fl, wouldn't that be a plausible reason given that many people move there every year?

5. Franklin county did not use Diebold
machines. They were DRE's (no paper trail) but they were made by Danaher(sp?).
