used the obligatory -- "I don't think anyone thinks this will change the outcome...but let's make sure every vote counts!"

1. Those were running all day yesterday. Requesting money for
the Ohio recount for the Ohio Dems.

I don't know if it is to put volunteers in place to observe or what exactly.

3. yeah I heard it yesterday too.
I guess I'll donate, I donated to them before the election too. I sure hope they are using this money for what we want them to be using it for, and not getting ready for 2006, too soon and too dangerous to give up on 2004.

5. maybe the money would be better going to the Glibs, since they're
the ones who initiated the recount and are organizing it, getting the volunteers, etc. Don't know why the Dems would need it at all. Aren't they just "supporting" it?

6. Already sent money to Glibs many times. Now I'm waiting to see some
bang for my bucks.

8. Not sure. I know national Dems are supporting the recount. Perhaps Ohio
Dems are trying to help out by offsetting the costs to Ohio taxpayers. Supposedly the actual recount costs will be 1.5 million (according to Kenneth 'Wormtongue' Blackwell) but Glibs have only raised 250K. Taxpayers will have to foot the extra bill unless money is raised, and this in a state that is already suffering economically. If something substantial comes up, I feel relatively sure Dems (national) will fork over the money, otherwise they will look very suspect to Ohioans. Just a guess. Al Franken is advertising for the Ohio Dems, he must know the inside skinny.
