AP- Cleveland paper Ohio voter story
<snip>

CLEVELAND - A polling place that served two adjoining precincts counted hundreds of votes for fringe presidential candidates Nov. 2, apparently because poll workers didn't instruct voters to use only the machines for their precinct, a newspaper reported Friday.

4. "showed the need for more poll worker training."
The bush policy of pass the blame has certaintly entrenched itself in election politics, hasn't it?

6. Good story for a start, BUT. . .
Don't you think it's significant that the first real story AP reports, there's a built-in explanation for just "worker error," nothing else at work here-- even though of course it hurt Kerry.

This voting "irregularity," like so many, is rooted in "anomalous statistics." They're willing to acknowledge this anomaly only because they can find a relatively innocuous explanation. When similarly strange statistical patterns show up, they refuse to acknowledge them-- because the only explanation suggests fraud.
They won't go there.
