My message to the DNC
In response to a questionnaire from the DNC:

First of all the democratic party needs to involve itself heavily in the investigations into election irregularities and work to ensure that every state does away with these new evoting machines and optiscanners. You can't win an election where results are insecure.

The democratic party has GOT to make sure the disenfranchisements we witnessed in 2000 and 2004 stop! Otherwise every thing else it does is useless. You can't win if your base is too intimidated to vote no matter what else you change.

There are many of us at the grassroots level fighting the election problems and we've received virtually NO encouragement or help from the democratic party. If the democratic party is serious about winning elections it must, MUST get involved. If they choose not to many of us are going to start supporting the Greens if necessary to have a voice. I'm not just talking about a small number of fringe loonies, I'm talking about intelligent, educated people who have had enough of working hard for a candidate and watching the democrats roll over and play dead when voters are disenfranchised and voting machines switch votes to the republican candidate.

PLEASE HEAR THIS MESSAGE LOUD AND STRONG....we will NOT continue to fight for democratic candidates who can't be bothered to ensure our votes count.

1. I sent one too, but was just a little different.

I told them they should help and become move vocal, but I also told them that if they were not going to watch our backs, I will no longer be able to watch their backs. I also told them if they can't stand up against voter fraud this time. I would have to give my vote to someone who will stand up against voter fraud next time. I also let them know I was very upset that they let this party steal the last election. I hope they get it, and start listening to us.

3. Bravo! Terry McAuliffe
I like it. Did you see Terry McAuliffe on Judy Woodruff? He spent the entire time talking about the financial situation of the party, how much money he had raised, etc... He referred to money SEVERAL times. In fact, that was all he talked about. He betrayed the essence of his values as DNC chair.

5. Shoot I wish I had copied my response
I was to the point, not nice, and said just about everything we've been saying on here. Told them that unless they get on board with the election fraud, voter suppression, etc. by funding recounts in Ohio and providing visible leadership they will lose their base because I like many won't be providing any kind of support in the next election cycle. I said a lot more and ended with LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE!!!

7. This won't work either way
We got into this fix by expecting our "leaders" to do stuff for us -- stuff that is our duty to promote, not our "leaders".

Like the issue of Gay Marriage. Where's the grassroots support? It's sitting at home wondering why Our Leaders are acting like such weasles.

In the 1950s and 1960s, a lot of white folks were outraged by Segregation -- not just Blacks. Until the hetero community starts voicing a little hellfire-and-brimstone outrage against the New Pharisees, they will own the issue and consolidate their tyrannical rule over the Gay community.

All the angry rhetoric against the DNC is meaningless. The Party isn't like the one that used to run the USSR -- and without strong grass-roots activity, they will revert to Business As Usual. Because they respond to the loudest, clearest voices.

It's OUR party.

We're all frustrated. But this is the best time to lay the groundwork.

9. I agree to a point.....
we ARE doing what we can but they should be in the fight as well. Why should blacks support the DNC when they allow them to be disenfranchised?

Unless the DNC takes a stand and fights the election problems there is NO point in changing anything else.

10. There is no "The DNC"
It's primarily an administrative organization.

You wrote, "Why should blacks support the DNC when they allow them to be disenfranchised?" The DNC can't allow or forbid anything. The Black community should start (and is) raising hell about disenfranchisement. So should all allied political communities. Why should anyone expect someone else to do the work for them?

You're -- we're -- depending on the DNC for an awful lot. WE should be the ones raising hell, and then telling the DNC, "there, now go submit the paperwork and call the caterers for the victory party".

11. Here's mine to the democratic party
" I supported John Kerry for president and I worked for the campagn here in Albuquerque, NM.
I am angry at the democratic party because it has still not acknowledged that there is enough evidence for widespread election fraud in our 2004 national election to have a full-scale investigation. (And there is!) I believe some people should probably be going to prison for what may have been perpetrated and you guys are apparently not doing anything. It really disturbs me.
I've been a life-long democrat, now I'm thinking of being an independent or supporting the Green party--at least they were part of the effort to fund the recount in Ohio and New Mexico.

Sincerely,"
my name
