House Cleaning Time: Fire Terry McAuliffe
Can we all agree now that Terry Mac has been an unqualified disaster as DNC chair and should be removed with all possible haste?

8. We need ass-kickers, not boot-lickers.
We need sisters and brothers, not wet-nurses and mothers.

9. We need foremen, not door men
We need some people with progressive fire to lead this party. No more dull, corporate-friendly "war heroes," please.

10. Give me a break
Terry raised as much money as chimpy. He had a large field of candidates and stayed out of it until there was a winner. It is not Terry's fault.

11. Um, three elections, three Republican sweeps.
2000: Republicans win control of every branch of the Federal government.

2002: Republicans win back the Senate, regaining control of every branch of the Federal government.

2004: Republicans win control of every branch of the Federal government for a couple more years.

Raising money has done us what?

14. clarify: his job is not to be chief strategist
I think we're placing far too much blame on this guy. His job is to do three things in concert:
1) raise money
2) provide aid and assistance to candidates
3) cheer lead

With all three of these duties he has done a fantastic job.

His job is not (and never was) to divine grand electoral strategies a la Rove.

We probably need some new blood in there, I'll agree with that. But the guy has done his job very well, and tirelessly I might add.
