"This was discovered last week that Yahoo will switch the URL of a story so that people clicking on the link from a page like this one go to a page that actually DOESN'T COUNT -- even though they don't mention it at all.

The best way to actually make your vote count is to go to page listing the AP's news stories, THEN find the story and click on that link!

This is the link to the AP results page, which ISN'T BLOCKED:

then you scroll down to "Kerry Lawyer Seeks Ohio Ballot Inspection" click and rate it.

If you don't mention this little quirk when posting yahoo stories, then you might as well be voting in OHIO.

People should note this little quirk in the future to actually make sure votes count (even though Yahoo does have some legitmacy in preventing, um, ballot-box-stuffing ;> )

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) is asking county elections officials to allow his witnesses to inspect the 92,000 ballots cast in Ohio in which no vote for president was recorded, a Kerry lawyer said Sunday night.

The request is one of 11 the Kerry campaign made in a letter sent over the weekend to Ohio's 88 county boards of election, which will begin recounting presidential ballots this week.

"We're trying to increase the transparency of the election process," said Donald McTigue, the lawyer handling the recount for the Kerry campaign. But he added that several requests — such as using independent experts to check election equipment, "are trying to push the edge of envelope."

Every time there's a story about Ohio and LoParo makes a comment, it is snide and dismissive. Sounds to me like a snarling dog trying to hide the evidence of a stolen bone.

The highest rated story, for instance, only has some 30 votes on it. I bet we could skew the whole of yahoo news.

Would it be worth it? Probably not. Would it be a nice thing to do? No. But we could do it anyway... Ant it might piss off the freepers for a second.
