People doing election work in Ohio: Bring VIDEO CAMERAS!
While we are all focusing on the very real crime Blackwell has committed by locking down and blocking access to election information, I noticed the comment in one of the articles cited: "I haven't heard anything about it," said Fred Hall III, president of the Greene County elections board.
They will simply deny they prevented access. Therefore, I say, from now on, anyone that does any official work on recounts and investigations, carry a video recorder. This will: 1. Prove their wrongdoing if it occurs, 2. Deter them from denying access and messing with the process.

We need to stop assuming they will act decently, which we keep assuming. So for the "soldiers" fighting in Ohio, arm yourselves with video cameras!

1. And people Tape all your calls with them
there is a small, cheap gadget you can connect between your phone and a tape recorder.

2. Available at Radio Shack
And P.S. I just read that Katrina woman's story in another thread. I'm rather annoyed that apparently big crimes are being committed such as leaving election office doors open, snatching public files from volunteers, and being run off the road by multiple Suburbans with "Maryland plates" and tinted windows, and NOBODY got any of it on tape? Hard proof simply thrown down the drain in a situation where we all are being called liars and conspiracy theorists with no proof. With the doors unlocked situation, they even could have returned home for a video tape. But no foresight, no interest in capturing the proof. It makes me think either the stories are not as serious as they are being alleged, or they are not true. I mean, somebody working on the Ohio election case and meeting with Jesse Jackson should know that the possibility could arise for needing to catch wrongdoing on tape. WTF???

4. OK my bad
on that. But really, if she has seen lights turning off and on in the building while watching round the clock, I sure hope she got that on tape. I mean, what's the point of watching the building if you can't prove anything?

As an aside, both the woman's testimony you cite as well as that woman who was run off the road, have HORRIBLE grammar, spelling, and speaking skills. Not so sure I want those statements representing us. I just know the Repugs will have a field day pointing out how ignorant "we" are.

Anyway, who is running the show out there in Ohio? Shouldn't they be ready for anything? If that Katrina woman is getting repeated phone calls from some guy who recites her daily movements, she would have to be crazy not to record it! Seriously, I'd be at Radio Shack after the first one, buying a simple device that hooks on your phone (I actually have one, due to having done a telephone interview). Less than ten bucks, I think.

5. Want to keep this topic going
I posted this late last night, but I know some of you are doing work getting election documents and doing investigations. Video Cameras should be standard from now on amongst people working on this. It will prove wrongdoing when it occurs, and curb those who would like to attempt it when they see a camera on you. It's very very important!!! If you don't have one, borrow one. Smaller DV cameras are best, not as bulky. And start taping conversations if you are corresponding with the enemy (election officials, particularly in Ohio) via phone.

6. Just FYI, at our recount training
we were told specifically that we CANNOT have video cameras during the recount process or in the BoEs.
