Of course, we all started to chant 'you're not welcome", cause those damn 'NEW YORK CITY WELCOMES THE RNC ' signs were out. We were enraged that they came to this blue city.
When we got to Madison Square Garden, the drum beating and the chanting 'no more Bush' became very loud. We walked past them, holding 1000 coffins for our slain soldiers. They all stared as if we were aliens from another planet. 'no more years', and "this is what democracy looks like" we screamed; a TINY group of them reiterated with "Four more years", which started us with 'Four more wars"...One or two of them along the way gave us the finger, but that was all.
Then we turned the corner to the FOX News Station....'FOX You suck'. I found out that this, the largest protest ever except for the million man march, received very little coverage, except for Cspan, which had it on all day.
But, my relatives who were visiting Europe said that it was front page NEWS there.

Thank You NeW Yorkers and everyone involved in that March.Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It was 100 degrees and the cops had on riot suits and we were penned in behind 8 ft storm fencing, and it was a FABULOUS day. I love NY!

An idea I heard for this year was to bring noisemakers and honking car horns. Whatever can make a loud noise - assuming they'll at least have to keep the sound going on film.

You can buy those canned airhorns at boating supply stores - they make a BIG noise. Also any New Year's Eve bells, horns and whistles you have hanging around. I know people taking their little league coaching whistles too.
