perhaps the biggest problem in our democracy

even worse than the problems in the MSM...

I've noticed that a lot of talk has turned to the Supreme Courts in Ohio and US and how they are republican controlled.

This just makes me sick. Are the courts so partisan that they don't even listen to testimony and we can pack our bags now? Aren't they supposed to be the one branch of government that is non-partisan? Aren't they supposed to listen to all sides and judge each case on its merits?

I'm thinking, am I naive to hold out hope that perhaps just one Judge on the Supreme Court who voted against Gore in 2000 has seen what a jerk Bush is and is willing to look at facts rather than how much of a tax break they're going to get under each candidate? It only takes one! Our entire democracy may be riding on one person's vote.

I think it is sad that they are partisan at all. I do however, have hope still though. Not everyone on "this side" is pure, and not everyone on "that side" is bad.

I also think it's sad (and infuriating) that the courts are partisan. I keep wondering what the solution is for that, particulary in the US Supreme Court.

Still, on this issue, I hope that whoever looks at the information can be convinced. You know, when faced with facts, they could not put party over country.
